Title
Substitute resolution approving a Lease agreement between MKE Northside LLC, as landlord, and the City of Milwaukee Fire Department, as tenant, for 1900 West Fiebrantz Avenue, for use by the Milwaukee Fire Department as a vehicle depo and repair shop.

Analysis
This resolution authorizes the City of Milwaukee to enter into a lease with the owner of 1900 West Fiebrantz Avenue so that the Milwaukee Fire Department, as a long-term tenant, may use the parcel for fleet storage, maintenance purposes and base operations for the Mobile Integrated Health (MIH) and Milwaukee Opioid Response Initiative (MORI) program.

Body
Whereas, the City of Milwaukee Fire Department (“MFD”) currently operates repair services from the MFD location at 118 W Virignia St; and

Whereas, the current repair location, originally designed to accommodate horse and buggy apparatus, no longer accommodates the needs of larger and heavier apparatus of current day; and

Whereas, the City of Milwaukee Fire Department (“MFD”) requires additional space for fleet storage and maintenance; and

Whereas, the MIH and MORI program will be displaced by station re-opening; and

Whereas, current City-owned facilities are insufficient to meet MFD needs; and

Whereas, MFD would like to lease the property at 1900 West Fiebrantz Avenue from MKE Northside LLC under a Lease Agreement (“Lease”) which permits an initial 4-year term, with options for MFD to extend as necessary in 1-year increments; and

Whereas, MFD has sufficient funds within its budget to cover the costs of the Lease; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, That The City of Milwaukee Common Council hereby approves the Lease, as submitted to this file, and the City and MFD representatives are authorized to enter into the Lease on terms and conditions materially in conformance therewith and to take such actions, as may be needed, to effectuate the terms of the Lease and this r...
