Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Health Department to apply for, accept and fund the Bioterrorism Grant Focus C project from the Centers for Disease Control through the State of Wisconsin Lab of Hygiene in the amount of $300,000.

Body
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the State of Wisconsin Lab of Hygiene to enhance local public health agency capacity to prepare and respond to bioterrorism; and

Whereas, The operation of this grant project from 09/01/03 to 08/31/2004 would cost $300,000 provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the State of Wisconsin Lab of Hygiene is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 030712 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2004 Special Revenue Grant and Aid Project fund, the following amounts for the project titled Bioterrorism Focus C Grant:
