Resolution authorizing the proper City officers to enter into an Out-of-Program Agreement between the City of Milwaukee and St. Michael Hospital regarding the design, construction, and funding of water main improvements required in conjunction with hospital expansion. (DPW)

Analysis

This resolution approves an Out-of-Program Agreement between the City and St. Michael Hospital.  Construction of the hospital's newest facility to be located in vacated West Rohr Avenue between North 24^th and North 25^th Streets requires installation of a new water main to replace the existing main located in easement in the vacated street.  This Agreement specifies how that new main will be designed, funded, and constructed.

Body

Whereas, St. Michael Hospital plans to construct a new hospital facility in the vacated West Rohr Avenue right-of-way between North 24^th and North 25^th Streets; and

Whereas, In order to provide adequate water service to the hospital, an existing City water main located in easement in the former West Rohr Avenue right-of-way will be conveyed to St. Michael's and a new public water main linking existing water mains in North 24^th and North 25^th Streets will be constructed around the north side of the hospital; and  

Whereas, St. Michael Hospital will provide the necessary funds for the new water main and all related improvements; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, That the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee hereby authorizes the proper City officers to execute an Out-of-Program Agreement between the City of Milwaukee and St. Michael Hospital, said Agreement being attached to this file; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the Commissioner of Public Works is hereby authorized to make minor, non-substantive changes to the Agreement prior to its execution.
