Analysis

This resolution grants approval for a driveway approach that is wider than 30 feet for the Old Dominion Freight Terminal at 517 West Layton Avenue.

Body

Whereas, Atwell LLC the applicant, has submitted a permit application, PWDR-26-00020 to construct an expansion to an existing driveway approach at 517 West Layton Avenue in the public right-of-way; and

 

Whereas, The property owner, Old Dominion Freight, has undertaken a significant redevelopment of the freight terminal property; and

 

Whereas, The existing westernmost driveway approach is approximately 40 feet wide; and

 

Whereas, The applicant is proposing to expand the westernmost driveway approach by 8 feet so that that driveway approach width will be 48 feet; and

 

Whereas, The Department of Public Works, after having reviewed the permit application, has determined that the width of the driveway approach will not be detrimental; and

 

Whereas, Milwaukee Code of Ordinances Section 115-23 requires that any driveway approach that has a width greater than 30 feet must be approved by the Common Council; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that PWDR-26-00020 is approved.
