Title

Analysis
This ordinance requires local common council member approval of issuance of a temporary extension of a licensed alcohol beverage premises (currently, common council approval is required). If the local common council member does not approve of the issuance, the city clerk shall forward the application to the licensing committee for a hearing on the appeal of the decision of the common council member.

The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:
Part 1. Section 90-4-7.8-f-1 of the code is amended to read:
90-4. Classification of Licenses.
7.8. TEMPORARY EXTENSION OF LICENSED PREMISES FOR SPECIAL EVENTS.
f. Committee Action.
f-1. If an application is approved by a common council member under par. e, the city clerk shall [[forward the application to the licensing committee for its recommendation to the common council as to whether or not a permit should be granted]] >>issue the temporary extension in accordance with par. h<< .
Part 2. Section 90-4-7.8-h of the code is amended to read:
h. Issuance. If the >>common council member approves or the<< common council grants the application for a temporary extension of licensed premises [[for special events]], the city clerk shall issue an appropriate document to the applicant confirming that fact and specifying the date, period of time and specific location for which the [[extended licensed premises]] >>temporary extension<< shall be in effect.
