Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Health Department to accept and fund the Family Foundations Comprehensive Home Visiting Grant from the State of Wisconsin Department of Children and Families in the amount of $1,863,184, with a grantor share of $1,515,290 (81%) and a city share of $347,892 (19%). The purpose of the grant is to serve families in need of services related to improving pregnancy outcomes, enhancing family functions, preventing child abuse and neglect and assuring child readiness for school. The 2022-23 grant includes an allocation of American Rescue Plan Act funding from DCF.

Body
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the State of Wisconsin Department of Children and Families to improve pregnancy outcomes, enhance family functions, prevent child abuse and neglect and assure child readiness for school; and

Whereas, The continued operation of this grant program from October 1, 2022 to September 30, 2023 will cost $1,863,184, comprised of $1,515,290 or 81% grantor share and $347,892 or 19% city share; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Milwaukee Code of Ordinances Section 304-81; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant parent of the 2022 Special Revenue Grant and Aid Projects Fund, in the following amounts for the program titled Comprehensive Home Visiting Grant:
