Resolution relative to application, acceptance and funding of a 2003 Vehicle Miles of Travel Monitoring Grant. (Infrastructure Services Division)
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to apply for, accept and fund a 2003 Vehicle Miles of Travel Monitoring Grant project from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation in the amount of $45,883. The purpose of the project is to collect traffic count data to monitor traffic flow patterns in the City of Milwaukee.

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation to provide expanded monitoring of roadway usage levels and travel characteristics in the City of Milwaukee; and
Whereas, The operation of this grant project from January 1, 2003 to December 31, 2003 would cost $45,883 and would be provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation is authorized and the Department of Public Works shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 940843 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
1. Commit Funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2003 Special Revenue Grant and Aid Projects, Fund the following amounts for the program/project titled 2003 Vehicle Miles of Travel Monitoring Project:
