Resolution appropriates $160,000 from the Contingent Fund to the City Attorney Collection Contract to fund collection activity services for the remainder of the year for City receivables and overdue Municipal court judgments.
BODY:
Whereas, on December 17, 1996 the Common council passed resolution File Numbers 961270 and 961271 authorizing contracts with the Kohn Law Firm for the collection of City receivables and Professional Account Management, Inc. (PAM) for the collection of overdue Municipal Court judgments; and
Whereas, Funding for both these activities is under the jurisdiction of the City Attorney's Office Collection contract Special Purpose Account; and
Whereas, Expenditures for the Kohn Law Firm through August, 1999 total $208,401.67 and expenditures for PAM through July, 1999 total $390,035.63; collection services year-to-date total $598,437.30 and there is a balance of $166,524.88 remaining in the account and additional funding of $160,000 is necessary for the remainder of the year; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that $160,000 be appropriated from the Common Council Contingent Fund Account No. 006300-0001-9990-C001-1999 to the City Attorney Collection Contract Special Purpose Account No. 006300-0001-1490-0001-S113-1999.
