Title
Resolution authorizing Conveyance of Rights in Land and a Quit Claim Deed to Wisconsin Department of Transportation, in the 1st and 6th Aldermanic Districts.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes a Conveyance of Rights in Land (DT 1660) and a Quit Claim Deed to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (DT 1661), in areas located in West Hope Avenue extended between North 8th Street and North 9th Street, and at I-43 North-South Freeway between West Hope Avenue extended and 400 feet north of West Hope Avenue extended, in the 1st and 6th Aldermanic Districts.

Whereas, The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (“DOT”) is undertaking a highway improvement project, DOT Project I.D. No. 1228-22-71, concerning improvement to I-43 North South Freeway from West Capitol Drive to 2100’ North of West Hampton Avenue, and in conjunction therewith, the DOT has requested that the City of Milwaukee provide Conveyance of Rights in Land and a Quit Claim Deed (QCD), in defined areas within the improvement area; and
Whereas, The areas where the DOT wants the City to grant the QCD and conveyance of rights are within Parcels 4,5, & 6 and Parcels 5 & 6 as shown and included as Exhibit A, which Exhibit is part of this file; and
Whereas, The City obtained certain easement rights for public sewer facilities (sewer easements) by virtue of easement documents City of Milwaukee Sewer Easements 41B and 41A recorded in the Milwaukee County Register of Deeds as Document Nos. 1469901 and 1469905 respectively within Parcels 5 & 6 and Parcels 5, 6, & 7, where the sewer easements are located; and
Whereas, The City, by its DPW with assistance from the City Attorney’s Office, negotiated the Quit Claim Deed and the Conveyance of Rights in Land that are part of this file to accomplish the QCD and the conveyance; now, therefore, be it
