Analysis

This resolution authorizes the Health Department to apply for the Lead Based Paint Hazard Control Grant Project from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.  The purpose of the project is to make an additional 870 housing units lead-safe and to contract with three community-based organizations in support of neighborhood prevention activities.        

BODY:

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the  U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to make an additional 870 housing units lead-safe and to contract with three community-based organizations in support of neighborhood prevention activities; now, therefore, be it     

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development is authorized.
