This zoning change was requested by Vliet Street Development, LLC and will allow the subject sites, some of which are owned by the City of Milwaukee, to be combined with properties to the east to help facilitate the expansion of Art Intersection MKE. Vliet Street Development intends to purchase the City-owned lots and, following the zoning change, combine all of the land and program the site with uses including but not limited to outdoor gallery and community space, green infrastructure and solar pavilion, commercial kitchen, and potentially residential uses. Analysis

This zoning change was requested by Vliet Street Development and will allow the subject sites, some of which are owned by the City of Milwaukee, to be combined with properties to the east to help facilitate a development known as Art Intersection MKE.

Body

Resolved, That the Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, do ordain as follows:

 

Part 1.  That is added to the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances a new section to read as follows:

 

The zoning map is amended to change the zoning for the properties located at 3516 West Vliet Street, Tax Key No. 366-1516-000; 3526 West Vliet Street, Tax Key No. 366-1518-100; 3530 West Vliet Street, Tax Key No. 366-1519-000; 3534 West Vliet Street, Tax Key No. 366-1520-000; 3538 West Vliet Street, Tax Key No. 366-1521-000; 3542 West Vliet Street, Tax Key No. 366-1522-000; and 3602 West Vliet Street, Tax Key No. 366-1523-000 from Two-Family Residential (RT4) to Local Business (LB2).
