ANLS:
This resolution authorizes the Health Department to apply for, accept and fund the Project UJIMA Grant project from the Medical College of Wisconsin in the amount of $75,879 with a City share of $18,200 and a grantor share of $57,679. The purpose of the project is a multi disciplinary collaboration between the hospital and community targeted toward prevention and intervention of youth violence.
BODY:
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the Medical College of Wisconsin for a multi disciplinary collaboration targeted toward prevention and intervention of youth violence; and

Whereas, The operation of this grant project from 10/01/97 to 09/30/98 would cost $75,879 of which $18,200 (24%) would be provided by the City and $57,679 (76%) would be provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the Medical College of Wisconsin is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 940843 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Encumber in the parent accounts of the 1997 Special Revenue Accounts-Grant and Aid Projects, the following amounts for the project titled Project UJIMA:
