Analysis
This resolution authorizes acceptance of continuous contributions to the City of Milwaukee Health Department for the use of purchasing water filters that remove lead from drinking water and distribute them to the most vulnerable populations in the City of Milwaukee.

Body
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee Health Department as part of a comprehensive strategy to reduce lead in drinking water exposure to city residents has been coordinating distribution of countertop, faucet-mount, and pitcher-style point of use filters to vulnerable populations in Milwaukee; and

Whereas, The Health Department anticipates receiving donations from various organizations and/or foundations to purchase water filters; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the contributions are accepted pursuant to s. 304-24 of the Code of Ordinances, with an annual amount up to $100,000 per year, no more than the amount actually received, to be deposited into a revenue account to be established by the Comptroller and used by the Health Department for purchasing water filters, with the intent that all amounts deposited be used for that Program and carried over as need be; and, be it

Further Resolved, That upon receipt and deposit of these funds, the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to establish a special account within the Health Department’s budget for the expenditure of the contributions; and, be it
