This resolution amends the “2013-2014 State Legislative Package Proposals” as attached to Common Council File Number 121009 by adding an item to distribute and educate the State Legislature on the findings and recommendations of the Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission’s Planning Report No. 54, A Regional Housing Plan for Southeastern Wisconsin: 2035.

Whereas, In March, 2013, the Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission (“SEWRPC”) released SEWRPC Planning Report No. 54, A Regional Housing Plan for Southeastern Wisconsin: 2035; and

Whereas, On March 13, 2013, SEWRPC, by unanimous vote of all 15 commissioners present, approved Resolution No. 2013-04, a resolution adopting A Regional Housing Plan for Southeastern Wisconsin: 2035 as the design year 2035 regional housing plan for Southeastern Wisconsin; and

Whereas, SEWRPC Resolution No. 2013-04 contains the following “resolved” clause:

That the design year 2035 regional housing plan for Southeastern Wisconsin, following the adoption of this resolution, shall become an element of the master plan for the entire Region, which master plan shall be made for the general purpose of guiding and accomplishing a coordinated, adjusted, and harmonious development of the entire Region and which will, in accordance with existing and future needs, best promote public health, safety, morals, order, convenience, prosperity, or the general welfare, as well as efficiency and economy in the process of development; and that the purpose and effect of the adoption of the master plan shall be solely to aid the Regional Planning Commission, the local governments and local government officials in ...
