Resolution relative to application, acceptance and funding of the Home-Based Asthma Education Grant. (Health Department)
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Health Department to apply for, accept and fund the Home-Based Asthma Education Grant from the Environmental Protection Agency in the amount of $20,000. The purpose of the project is to assess the effectiveness of in-home visual assessments and parent education on the health status of children with persistent asthma.
BODY:
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the Environmental Protection Agency to assess the effectiveness of in-home visual assessments and parent education on the health status of children with persistent asthma; and
Whereas, The operation of this grant project from October, 2003 to September, 2005 would cost $20,000 entirely provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the Environmental Protection Agency is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 940843 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant parent of the 2003 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid projects fund, the following amount for the project titled Home-Based Asthma Education:
