- Analysis - This resolution authorizes expenditures for AMR water meters and transfers funds from the Water Works' Retained Earnings to the Water Works' Automatic Meter Reading project.
BODY:
Whereas, The Milwaukee Water Works has accelerated the conversion of water meters as part of its Automatic Reading project; and
Whereas, Additional meters and components need to be purchased to support this accelerated effort; and
Whereas, File 981671 granted the Water Works $3,000,000 of accelerated authority, which has been fully used for the purchase and installation of water meters; and
Whereas, Future funding authorization will be requested as necessary to ensure a timely and phased completion of this project; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Milwaukee Water Works is authorized to incur the following additional expenditures:
AMR water meters $9,000,000
and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Comptroller is hereby authorized and directed to transfer an additional $9,000,000 from the Water Works Retained Earnings account, 0410 6410 312101, to the Water Works' AMR account: 0410 6410 006300 R645.
