Analysis

This resolution authorizes payment of judgment in the lawsuit entitled Ravid D. Smith v. City of Milwaukee, et al., Milwaukee County Circuit Court Case No. 21-CV-005990 for the total amount of $30, 695.48.

Body

Whereas, Plaintiff, Ravid D. Smith, has filed a personal injury lawsuit against the City of Milwaukee and Police Officer Antonio Obregon.

 

Whereas, the Court has rendered judgment in the above-referenced lawsuit against the City of Milwaukee plus interest for a total amount of $30, 695.48; and

 

Whereas, the City Attorney recommends and the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee deem it expeditious and just to pay the judgment in this lawsuit; now, therefore be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the proper City officers be and hereby authorized and directed to issue a City check in the amount of $ 30, 695.48 payable to the order of The Sulton Law Firm, LLC Client Trust Account at 2745 N. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Suite 202, Milwaukee, WI 53212 as soon as practicable, said amount to be charged to the Damages and Claims Fund, Account No. 0001-1490-S118-006300; and be it

 

Further Resolved, that for and in consideration of the above-referenced payment, the lawsuit will be resolved.
