Title

Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to reduce street occupancy fees during construction of a housing development located on the north side of South Water Street immediately east of the Water Street bridge over the Milwaukee River. The project meets the two criteria established by section 81-102 of City Code and is, therefore, eligible for a 50% reduction in occupancy permit fees upon approval of a resolution by the Common Council supporting the fee reduction.
Body
Whereas, Renner Architects is planning to develop a residential project to be known as The Waterfront along the north side of South Water Street immediately east of the Water Street bridge over the Milwaukee River; and

Whereas, The project's design will require partial occupancy of South Water Street during construction; and

Whereas, Section 81-102 of City Code establishes fees for private occupancy of public rights-of-way; and

Whereas, Section 81-102 also establishes a procedure and criteria for reducing those fees by 50%; and

Whereas, The Renner Architects' project site and building design meet the criteria set out in City Code for allowing a reduction in occupancy fees; and

Whereas, Partial occupancy of the South Water Street right-of-way adjacent to the site will not have a significant adverse impact upon traffic and parking conditions in the area; now, therefore, be it
