This resolution urges the Secretary of the Air Force to choose the 128th Air Refueling Wing at the General Mitchell Air National Guard Base as the future home of the KC-46 “Pegasus” aircraft.

Body
Whereas, Milwaukee’s General Mitchell Air National Guard Base would be a fitting host for the KC-46 “Pegasus” aircraft, given the facility’s strategic advantages and ongoing infrastructure developments; and

Whereas, Mitchell International Airport, also known as Mitchell Field, is situated in the Northern Tier base, which provides the 128th Air Refueling Wing with critical access for homeland defense and global reach missions, while also offering local airspace alongside the 115th Fighter Wing and the Volk training center for the annual Northern Lightning training exercise; and

Whereas, The 128th Air Refueling Wing’s modernized facilities, such as the new alert facility, refurbished operations building, small air terminal, health clinic, fire station, and a recently inaugurated sensitive compartmented information facility, provide an accommodating environment for the KC-46; and

Whereas, The 128th Air Refueling Wing, affectionately known as “Milwaukee’s Hometown Air Force,” contributes to the city’s economic vitality through an estimated $84 million annual impact by fostering economic development and providing essential technical skills to the nation’s airborne armed forces; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Secretary of the Air Force is urged to choose the 128th Air Refueling Wing at the General Mitchell Air National Guard Base as the future home of the KC-46 “Pegasus” aircraft; and, be it
