Substitute resolution relative to application, acceptance and funding of a 1999 Planning and Designing Modern Roundabouts Seminar Grant.
ANLS:
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to apply for, accept and fund a 1999 Planning and Designing Modern Roundabouts Seminar Grant project from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, Bureau of Transportation Safety in the amount of $11,770, with a city share of $1,770 and a grantor share of $10,000. The purpose of the project is to provide a seminar on the latest planning and design techniques for the selection, design, and installation of modern roundabouts.
BODY:
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, Bureau of Transportation Safety for the training of engineering and planning staff members, community leaders and elected officials in the area of modern roundabout planning and design; and

Whereas, The presentation of the grant seminar on June 22, 1999 would cost $11,770 of which $1,770 (15%) would be provided by the City and $10,000 (85%) would be provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, Bureau of Transportation Safety is authorized and the Department of Public Works shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 940843 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Commit Funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 1999 Special Revenue Grant and Aid Projects, Fund the following amounts for the project/program titled 1999 Planning and Designing Modern Roundabouts Seminar:
