Zielinski at the table at 9:18 a.m. Ms. Saccaro asks that if the appeal is denied by the committee, the church would like an extension to 2011 to complete the work. The committee agrees to give the church an extension. Ald. Bauman moves to deny the appeal and to direct the Historic Preservation Commission to give the church an extension to the end of 2011 (December 31) to complete the change in building materials. This resolution affirms the Historic Preservation Commission’s action denying a certificate of appropriateness for the installation of vinyl siding on the dormers of the property located at 1036 N. Van Buren Street.

Body

Whereas, On December 23, 2009, Metrobrook Church, Ltd. appealed the Historic Preservation Commission’s (HPC) decision to deny a certificate of appropriateness for the installation of vinyl siding on the dormers of the property located at 1036 N. Van Buren Street; and

 

Whereas, The Zoning, Neighborhoods and Development Committee held a hearing on February 2, 2010 related to the appeal of Metrobrook Church, Ltd. of the HPC’s denial; and,

 

Whereas, By a unanimous vote of 5-0, the Committee affirmed the decision of the HPC to deny a certificate of appropriateness for the installed vinyl siding; and

 

Whereas, the Committee directed the Historic Preservation Commission to extend a deadline of December 31, 2011 to Metrobrook Church, Ltd. to complete the change in siding materials to one approved by the HPC; now, therefore, be it;

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the decision of the Historic Preservation Commission denying the certificate of appropriateness for the installation of vinyl siding on the dormers of the property located at 1036 N. Van Buren Street is affirmed.
