Minutes note: Nonrenewal of a Licensed Dwelling Facility for the premises at 736 S. 3rd St. (Committee vote: Ayes: 3, Noes: 0) (written exceptions have been filed) The President questioned whether the members of the Common Council read the Report and Recommendations of the Utilities and Licenses Committee in this matter and any written exceptions, if filed by the licensee? Ayes: 17 - Ald. Herron, D'Amato, Henningsen, Bohl, Johnson-Odom, Gordon, Donovan, Richards, Cameron, Dudzik, Sanchez, Pawlinski, Breier, Nardelli, Murphy, Hines and President Pratt. Noes: 0. THE PRESIDENT asked whether the licensee or complainants or their representive were present and wish to address the Council. The licensee was present. ALD. DUDZIK moved that the Common Council do now resolve itself into a committee of the Whole for the purpose of hearing from the licensee and City Attorney's office relative to the foregoing matter. The motion prevailed. PROCEEDINGS OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE Mr. David Larson and Assistant City Attorney Bruce Schrimpf appeared and addressed the committee relative to the foregoing matter . ALD. DUDZIK moved that the Committee do now rise. ALD. PAWLINSKI moved or approval of File 011703. The motion prevailed. Ayes: 16 - Ald. This substitute motion approves the recommendations of the Utilities and Licenses Committee for the nonrenewal of the licensed dwelling facility license (rooming house) to David Larson for the premises at 736 S. 3rd St.
Body
Whereas, The Hearing Examiner hired by the Utilities and Licenses Committee held an evidentiary hearing on June 3, 2002 relative to the renewal of the licensed dwelling facility license of David Larson for the premises at 736 S. 3rd St; and
 
Whereas, The Utilities and Licenses Committee approved the nonrenewal recommendation of the Hearing Examiner on June 14, 2002, voting unanimously (3 ayes, 0 noes) to recommend nonrenewal of said license; now, therefore, be it
 
Resolved, That the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, hereby accepts the recommendation of the Utilities and Licenses Committee to recommend nonrenewal of the licensed dwelling facility license (rooming house) of David Larson for the premises at 736 S. 3rd St., based on neighborhood objection.
