Substitute ordinance to further amend the 1998 rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service under control of the Common Council.
BODY:
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

Part 1. Section 2 of ordinance File Number 970830 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:

Under Salary Grade 015, add the footnote designation "3/" following the title "Pension Financial Manager" with the footnote to read: "3/ Recruitment may be at any step in the salary grade."

Part 2. Section 3 of ordinance File Number 970830 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 1, 1997 - December 29, 1996):

Under Pay Range 252, in footnote "1/", delete the rate listed for 1996 and add the following: For 1997, this differential is $45.62.

Part 3. Section 3 of ordinance File Number 970830 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby further amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 1, 1998 - December 28, 1997):

Under Pay Range 252, in footnote "1/", delete the rate listed for 1996 and add the following: For 1998, this differential is $46.88.

Part 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances contravening the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.

Part 5. The provisions of Part 2 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 1, 1997 (December 29, 1996).

The provisions of Part 3 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 1, 1998 (December 28, 1997).

The provisions of all other parts of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after the first day of the first pay period following passage and publication.
