Analysis
This resolution authorizes and directs the proper City officials to execute an agreement with the Village of Greendale for the purchase of water at wholesale.
Body
Whereas, The Village of Greendale has been a valued wholesale customer of Milwaukee Water Works since 1964 whose water supply agreement is in need of renewal and updating; and

Whereas, The Village of Greendale requested that Milwaukee Water Works guarantee an enhanced level of service to the Village, which triggered an evaluation of the request under the requirements of Resolution 080457; and

Whereas, The Common Council under Resolution 110589 directed the Milwaukee Water Works, the Legislative Reference Bureau and the Department of City Development to prepare analyses relating to a water service agreement and requesting submission of a report by the Village of Greendale; and

Whereas, Resolution 110906 directed negotiations with the Village of Greendale regarding this request for an enhanced level of water service; and

Whereas, These negotiations have resulted in the attached “Agreement between the City of Milwaukee and the Village of Greendale for the purchase of water at wholesale” which has been approved by the Greendale Village Board; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, That the proper City officials are hereby authorized and directed to execute the “Agreement between the City of Milwaukee and the Village of Greendale for the purchase of water at wholesale”; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the Milwaukee Water Works file a fully executed copy of the Agreement with the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin.
