Analysis

This resolution directs the Department of City Development to prepare a resolution which vacates said alley in accordance with vacation proceedings under power granted to the City of Milwaukee by Section 66.297(1), Wisconsin Statutes, and Section 81-308-28, Milwaukee Code of Ordinances. This vacation is necessary to implement the redevelopment plan.

Body

Whereas, It has been proposed by the Department of City Development that the East-West alley in the block bounded by North 26th Street, North 27th Street, West Michigan Street and West Wisconsin Avenue be vacated pursuant to the provisions of Section 66.297, Wisconsin Statutes; and

Whereas, The vacation of said alley is necessary for implementing the redevelopment plan; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Department of City Development is directed to prepare a resolution to vacate said alley in accordance with Section 81-308-28 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances.
