Title
Substitute resolution authorizing area-wide and scattered sites sidewalk replacement at various areas and appropriating funds for these purposes with the city construction cost estimated to be $1,670,000 for a total estimated cost of these projects being $1,685,000.
Analysis
To provide the necessary authority for sidewalk repairs at various areas. The City cost of these projects approved by this resolution is estimated to be $1,670,000. The total estimated cost of these projects is $1,685,000.
Body
Whereas, It is necessary and in the public interest to replace those sidewalk stones which are cracked, broken, out of grade or otherwise a hazard to pedestrians; and
Whereas, It is proposed that sidewalk replacement work be done in the following locations at the indicated cost:
10th and 12th Aldermanic Districts
Area bounded by N. Hawley Rd., W. Vine St., W. Vliet St., and N. 60th St.; and Area bounded by W. Becher St., W. Burnham St., W. Windlake Ave., S. 6th St. (ST230260101) File Number 251490: Laying concrete walk. Doing all necessary grading pertaining to said work. (Assessable Sidewalk Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $350,000; Nonassessable Sidewalk Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $700,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $1,050,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2026-2027 construction season.
