This motion amends the Common Council Procedure and Rules by repealing the requirement that all proposed ordinances imposing a forfeiture, imprisonment or other penalty be referred to the committee on judiciary and legislation and the city attorney.

Body

Part 1. Article IV, Section 7 of the Common Council Procedure and Rules is repealed.

(Note: The provision being repealed reads as follows:

"ARTICLE IV COUNCIL FILES

Section 7. Penalties. All proposed ordinances imposing any forfeiture, imprisonment or other penalty shall be referred to the committee on judiciary and legislation and the city attorney.")

Part 2. Article IV, Sections 8 to 10 of the Common Council Procedure and Rules are renumbered Sections 7 to 9.
