BODY:

This substitute resolution authorizes City officials to execute a water service agreement with the Wisconsin Gas Co. to provide water service to a portion of Mequon.  Whereas, the Common Council, under Resolution File No. 971877, authorized the Milwaukee Water Works to negotiate a water service agreement with the Wisconsin Gas Co. for wholesale water service to a portion of Mequon, and

Whereas, discussions with Wisconsin Gas Co. have resulted in the attached agreement which identifies a Basic Service Area to be served initially, and an Enlarged Service Area that may also be served, and

Whereas, the term of the agreement is five (5) years, renewable by mutual consent, and limits Milwaukee's obligation to a maximum flow rate of 1500 gallons per minute, now therefore, be it

Resolved by the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the proper City officers are hereby authorized and directed to execute the attached Agreement Between the City of Milwaukee and Wisconsin Gas Company for the Purchase of Water at Wholesale.
