This resolution directs each City department that provides field services in the community to present a plan on how to make informational materials on Crime Stoppers available to the public as part of daily field activities.
Body
Whereas, The 2020 Adopted City Budget contains a footnote (Footnote #96), directing all City Departments that provide field services to present plans to make Crime Stoppers informational materials available to the public during fieldwork; and
Whereas, A resolution is required to effectuate the intent of this footnote; and
Whereas, On October 15, 2019, the City launched Crime Stoppers, a program designed to partner with the community to combat crime in the city; and
Whereas, Milwaukee Crime Stoppers is an independent non-profit organization that offers cash rewards up to $1,000 to anyone who gives anonymous information that leads to the arrest of criminals; and
Whereas, City departments that provide field services offer a unique opportunity for promotion of the new Crime Stoppers initiative; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Common Council directs each City department that provides field services to develop a plan to make Crime Stoppers materials available to the public during daily fieldwork and to present this plan within 4 months of adoption of this resolution.
