Analysis
This resolution authorizes the issuance of a Request for Proposal and execution of a contract for professional services to assist Milwaukee Water Works in the preparation of a hydraulic model of the existing water distribution system. The contract will be awarded to the proposer that best meets the needs of the Water Works as specified and determined by the Commissioner of Public Works.

Whereas, Milwaukee Water Works is in the process of developing a hydraulic model of the water distribution system to assist in future planning and the day to day operation of the distribution system; and
Whereas, Milwaukee Water Works requires the assistance of a consultant with expertise in creating hydraulic models to provide training in hydraulic model software, technical guidance for the required field testing, and technical expertise in the calibration process; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Commissioner of Public Works is hereby authorized and directed to issue a Request for Proposals for consultant services to assist Milwaukee Water Works in the preparation of a hydraulic model and, upon selection of the consultant best meeting the needs of the Water Works, to issue a contract for the professional services; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the cost of the system be charged to the appropriate Water Works account.
