Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a document titled “Grant Agreement Under the Fiscal Year 2023 Safe Streets and Roads for All Grant Program” and associated documents required for the agreement with the United States Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration. The work will be comprised of planning, community engagement, design, and construction for a series of quick-build street design correction, traffic calming, bike and pedestrian infrastructure, and transit access demonstration projects. The Agreement provides for 80 percent Federal aid and 20 percent local cost sharing, and the total estimated cost of this project is $5,00,000 with a City share of $1,000,000 and a grantor share of $4,000,000. This resolution also directs the City Comptroller to transfer funds for planning, community engagement, communications, design, environmental review, data collection and analysis at an estimated total cost of $1,850,000 with an estimated City share of $370,000 and a grantor share of $1,480,000. Final Design and Construction funds for this project will be included in a future resolution.
