Resolution authorizing the Commissioner of Public Works to execute an agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation to fund the installation of permanent lighting improvements on North 11th Street from West Wells Street to West Highland Avenue and West Tory Hill from North 11th Street to a point east of North 9th Street.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to install permanent lighting improvements on North 11th Street from West Wells Street to West Highland Avenue and West Tory Hill from North 11th Street to a point east of North 9th Street in conjunction with the next stage of reconstruction of the Marquette Interchange known as North 11th Street Contract and West Tory Hill Contract. Funding for the construction of these improvements is to be provided by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation as part of the interchange project.
Body
Whereas, The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WISDOT) is reconstructing the Marquette Interchange of IH94, USH41, IH43 and IH794 under the State Highway Improvement Program; and

Whereas, The Interchange reconstruction project provides cost participation for the installation of permanent lighting improvements; and

Whereas, The total estimated cost of modifications of the installation of permanent lighting improvements included as part of these projects is $38,432.59; and

Whereas, One hundred percent of the participating cost is reimbursable from WISDOT, and should be earmarked for this project in the 2006 Capital Grant and Aid Projects Account, Project/Grant Number SP032060100; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of Public Works be and hereby is authorized and directed to execute a contract with WISDOT for cost participation for the installation of permanent lighting improvements in conjunction with the reconstruction of the Marquette...
