Analysis
This resolution amends Common Council File Number 230978 accepting and funding the Epidemiology & Lab Capacity (ELC) Program - Project S: Strengthening the United States Response to Resistant Gonorrhea (SURRG) from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. The purpose of the grant providing MHD Lab services and supplies, epidemiology, and other work to identify and prevent the spread of treatment-resistant strains of gonorrhea in key populations.


Body
Whereas, Common Council File Number 230978 authorized the Health Department to accept and fund the Epidemiology & Lab Capacity (ELC) Program - Project S: Strengthening the United States Response to Resistant Gonorrhea (SURRG) grant to surveil, prevent, treat, and study treatment-resistant gonorrhea; and

Whereas, this grant provided for a grantor share total of $462,916, and a City share total of $0; and

Whereas, the Grantor share for this program is increased by $154,075, and total cost is increased by $154,075; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Milwaukee Code of Ordinances Section 304-81-5c; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Amend the budgeted funds within the Project/Grant parent account of the 2023 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects Fund, the following amounts for the project titled ELC - SURRG 2023-24:
