Title

Substitute ordinance to authorize the removal of raised medial islands by the Commissioner of Public Works on North Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive immediately to the north and south of West Clarke Street in the 6th Aldermanic District of the City of Milwaukee.

Analysis

This Ordinance would authorize the removal of two severely deteriorated raised medial islands on North Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive which are frequently being struck by traffic and present a hazard to traffic.

Body

The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

Part 1. The Commissioner of Public Works is hereby authorized to remove the raised medial islands and all appurtenances relative thereto, and to restore the street surface to a condition suitable for vehicular traffic on North Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive at its intersection with West Clarke Street.

Part 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances contravening the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.

Part 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
