Analysis
This resolution directs the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a State/Municipal Agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the programming, design and construction of the Forest Home Avenue intersection with South 16th Street. The State/Municipal Agreement provides for 90 percent Federal and State aid and 10 percent local cost sharing for preliminary engineering. The total estimated cost of this project is $1,473,817 with an estimated City share of $169,882 and a grantor share of $1,303,935.

Whereas, A project agreement has been requested and received from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) to be executed by the City of Milwaukee for the programming, design, and construction of the Forest Home Avenue intersection with South 16th Street with Federal aid under the Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP); and

Whereas, The Department of Public Works shall notify the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee of project cost overruns and changes in scope approved by the Department of Public Works; and

Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee recognizes that the City may be 100 percent liable for project cost overruns and changes in scope as approved by the Department of Public Works; and

Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee recognizes that the City may be liable for any cost incurred by the State should the City decide to withdraw from the project; and
