Analysis
This resolution approves the Public Participation Procedure and the Evaluation, Update and Amendment Procedure for Comprehensive Planning and authorizes the City Plan Commission and Department of City Development to implement and administer the Common Council's procedures when developing the City of Milwaukee's Comprehensive Plan.
Body
Whereas, The Common Council is the governing body for the City of Milwaukee ("City"); and
Whereas, The Common Council seeks to involve citizens, public agencies, officials and other interested parties in the development of the Comprehensive Plan and its policies in a manner consistent with the Wisconsin Smart Growth Law; and
Whereas, The City Plan Commission recommends and the Common Council adopts the Comprehensive Plan; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, That the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, adopts the Public Participation Procedure (Exhibit A) and the Evaluation, Update and Amendment Procedure (Exhibit B), copies of which are attached to this Common Council File, for Comprehensive Planning in the City; and, be it
Further Resolved, That Exhibits A and B may be revised by the Common Council upon recommendation of the City Plan Commission as part of its ongoing assessment of efforts to include citizens in its decision-making process; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Plan Commission and Department of City Development are authorized to implement and administer the Common Council's Public Participation Procedure and Evaluation, Update and Amendment Procedure.
