Resolution directing the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a document titled “Cost Sharing Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Milwaukee and the City of Greenfield” for the design and construction of South 43rd Street from West Cold Spring Road to West Howard Avenue; the City of Greenfield received Surface Transportation Program-Urban funding for the improvement of the roadway.
Analysis
This resolution directs the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a Memorandum of Understanding with the City of Greenfield for the design and construction of South 43rd Street from West Cold Spring Road to West Howard Avenue. The Memorandum of Understanding provides for 92.5 percent City of Greenfield funding and 7.5% City of Milwaukee funding of the local share of the design and construction costs. The total estimated cost of this work is $3,748,843 with a grantor share of $2,746,094, City of Greenfield share of $927,543 and a City of Milwaukee share of $75,206.

Whereas, A project agreement has been requested and received from the City of Greenfield to be executed by the City of Milwaukee for the design and construction of South 43rd Street from West Cold Spring Road to West Howard Avenue with Federal aid under the Surface Transportation Program - Urban (STP-U); and
Whereas, The Department of Public Works shall notify the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee of project cost overruns and changes in scope approved by the Department of Public Works; and
Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee recognizes that the City may be 100 percent liable for project cost overruns and changes in scope as approved by the Department of Public Works; and
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Commissioner of Public Works is hereby authorized to execute the Memorandum of Understanding for the design and construction of the aforementioned STP-U pro...
