The resolution authorizes the Department of Public Works - Operations Division (Forestry Section) to accept and expend $50,000 in contributions from the Milwaukee Urban Forestry Fund administered by the Greater Milwaukee Foundation for supporting a community tree planting program engaged with residents, businesses, and community stakeholders to address tree equity and improve tree canopy in neighborhoods across the city for potential tree planting projects on public or private property.

Whereas, supporting a community tree planting program engaged with residents, businesses, and community stakeholders to address tree equity and improve tree canopy in neighborhoods across the city for potential tree planting projects on public or private property is an eligible project by the Milwaukee Urban Forestry Fund; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Department of Public Works - Operations Division (Forestry Services) is authorized to accept $50,000 in contributions from the Milwaukee Urban Forestry Fund administered by the Greater Milwaukee Foundation for supporting a community tree planting program engaged with residents, businesses, and community stakeholders to address tree equity and improve tree canopy in neighborhoods across the city for potential tree planting projects on public or private property; and it

Further Resolved, That upon the receipt and deposit of these funds, the City Comptroller is directed to establish a special purposes account within the Department of Public Works - Operations Division (Forestry Section) budget for the expenditure of the contributions; and, be it
