Title

Substitute resolution authorizing The Commissioner of Public Works to begin implementation of the first phase of an advanced street lighting control and monitoring system.

Analysis

This substitute resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to begin the design and construction of an initial portion the construction of the advanced street lighting control system.

Body

Whereas, The Common Council, under File Number 041288, has previously authorized the Commissioner of Public Works to implement the pilot test system of the advanced street lighting control system; and

 

Whereas, The pilot test system has been successfully deployed, tested and is currently in operation; and

 

Whereas, The Department of Public Works desires to begin the first phase of replacing the existing obsolete and malfunctioning street lighting control system with the advanced street lighting control and monitoring system; and

 

Whereas, The estimated cost for this work is estimated to be $1,500,000.00; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City Of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of Public Works is authorized to undertake or engage a contractor to undertake, the design and construction of the advanced street lighting control and monitoring system; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the Commissioner of Public Works is hereby authorized to use existing Street Lighting Capitol Improvement funds available for this purpose.
