Analysis
This resolution authorizes a $130,000 supplemental appropriation from the Common Council Contingent Fund to the OutsideCounsel/Expert Witness Special Purpose Account for purposes of funding outside counsel representing the Employes' Retirement System/Annuity and Pension Board to implementing the global pension settlement.
BODY:
Whereas, The Employes' Retirement System/Annuity and Pension Board previously negotiated a contract with the firm of Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek, S.C. to provide them with representation relative to negotiating a potential global settlement of current pension litigation; and
Whereas, FN980715 adopted on September 23, 1998 appropriated $5,000 from the Contingent Fund for this purpose and $48,278.32 has been expended to date and $130,000 in additional funding is necessary to implement the global pension settlement; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to transfer the sum of $130,000 from the Common Council Contingent Fund Account No. 0001-9990-0001-C001-2000-006300 to the Outside Counsel/Expert Witness Fund Special Purpose Account No. 0001-1490-0001-S157-2000-006300 for the purpose of implementing the global settlement; and, be it
Further Resolved, That such amounts to be expended upon the presentation of invoices for service to the Office of the City Attorney, and meeting with the approval of the Office of the City Attorney.
