Whereas, The Milwaukee Public Library provides essential services to residents; and the Common Council has an interest in monitoring library operations and performance; and

Whereas, The 2026 Budget was adopted by Common Council File Number 250001 on November 7, 2025; and

Whereas, Amendment 1J placed a footnote in the 2026 Budget directing to report quarterly to the Common Council on library metrics as determined by the Council; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Milwaukee Public Library Director is directed to report quarterly to the Common Council on library metrics as determined by the Council; now, therefore, be it

Further Resolved, That within 60 days of adoption of this resolution, the Milwaukee Public Library shall provide a status update on implementation of this directive.
