Title
Substitute resolution authorizing the Fire Department to enter into an Intergovernmental Cooperation Agreement for Sharing and Operation of Fire, Rescue, and Emergency Medical Equipment and Materials with various area fire departments.

Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Fire Department to enter into an Intergovernmental Cooperation Agreement for Sharing and Operation of Fire, Rescue, and Emergency Medical Equipment and Materials with various area fire departments that replaces the Intergovernmental Cooperation Agreement for Sharing and Operation of Fire, Rescue, and Emergency Medical Equipment and Materials that was adopted with Common Council File #180396. This is in connection with the current Agreement for Mutual Assistance with various area fire departments adopted by Common Council Files #131646 and #200739.

Body
Whereas, Pursuant to Wis. State Secs. 66.0301 and 66.03125, various area fire departments desire to enter into an intergovernmental cooperation agreement to share fire, rescue, and emergency medical resources, including, but not limited to, vehicles, personnel, other materials, and related services, as mutually agreed to by the Parties, and there shall be no payment of use of equipment; and

Whereas, Each Department recognizes that sharing resources, including equipment and services, promotes cost effective and efficient use of public resources; and

Whereas, The Departments have specifically identified that sharing of fire fleet equipment will mutually benefit the communities they serve by reducing the amount of backup equipment required by each Department, allowing the Departments to share the strength and expertise maintained by their respective personnel; and
