Analysis
This resolution authorizes and directs the Commissioner of Public Works to execute an Intergovernmental Cooperation Agreement with the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD) for the MMSD to reimburse the City for costs to reline a MMSD sanitary sewer under the Sixth Street Viaduct. The work will be undertaken by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation's (WISDOT) Design-Build Organization (DBO). WISDOT will bill the City for this work and MMSD has agreed to reimburse the City up to $600,000. Estimates of the work are approximately $519,000.

Whereas, The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WISDOT), in conjunction with Milwaukee County and the City has currently contracted with a Design-Build Organization (DBO) to replace the Sixth Street Viaduct over the Menomonee Valley; and

Whereas, The District owns and maintains a 54" diameter sanitary sewer which extends under the existing Viaduct structure; and

Whereas, The south cable-stay pylon footing for the new Viaduct structure is proposed to be built immediately adjacent to the District's 54" diameter sanitary sewer; and

Whereas, The District has determined that the sanitary sewer needs to be relined in the area of the pylon footing (approximately 570' in length) prior to the bridge footing construction; and

Whereas, The DBO will design and prepare the contract plan and specifications, subject to District approval; and
