Title

Substitute resolution relating to the sale of the property at 3502 West Hampton Avenue to its former owner (1st Aldermanic District).

Analysis

This resolution directs the Department of City Development to sell the City-owned property at 3502 West Hampton Avenue to its former owner, Holy Redeemer Evangelistical Ministries, Inc., for the delinquent property taxes due on this property.

Body

Whereas, The property at 3502 West Hampton Avenue (tax key no. 208-0522-000) was acquired by the City from Holy Redeemer Evangelistical Ministries, Inc., through in rem property tax foreclosure in December, 2017; and

 

Whereas, Holy Redeemer Evangelistical Ministries, Inc., desires to purchase this property from the City; and

 

Whereas, Section 304-49-9-e of the Code of Ordinances provides that, unless otherwise authorized by a vote of the Common Council, the City shall not convey a City-owned property to any party who owned property in the City that, at any time within the past 5 years, the City acquired by means of property-tax foreclosure; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Council authorizes the sale back to the former owner, and directs the Department of City Development to sell the property at 3502 West Hampton Avenue (tax key no. 208-0522-000) to Holy Redeemer Evangelistical Ministries, Inc., for the price of  $12,782.46; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That, pursuant to s. 304-49-12 of the Code of Ordinances, the proceeds from this sale shall be credited to the Delinquent Tax Fund.
