This resolution supports the Notes, Jokes and Hope Conference and Music Festival on the grounds of the former Northridge Mall August 31-September 2, 2018. The festival will feature local musicians, singers, rappers, poets and dancers, as well as speakers who will host educational symposiums on credit repair, home-buying, fire safety, college financial aid assistance, job fair, AODA counseling, etc.

Whereas, Notes, Jokes and Hope Conference and Music Festival is a national family festival geared for people of all ages to promote love, unity, the arts, job creation, personal finance and life skills; and

Whereas, The Notes, Jokes and Hope Conference and Music Festival will be held August 31- September 2, 2018, in Milwaukee on the grounds of the former Northridge Mall in the 9th Aldermanic District; and

Whereas, The festival, hosted by NKE Global, will feature local musicians, singers, rappers, poets, and dancers who will compete for a chance to win cash prizes; and

Whereas, Each day will feature guest speakers who will host educational symposiums on credit repair, home-buying, fire safety, college financial aid application assistance, job fair, AODA counseling and much more; and

Whereas, Notes, Jokes and Hope Conference and Music Festival will showcase the 9th Aldermanic District, its vibrancy and continued efforts to increase community and economic development particularly in the area of the former Northridge Mall; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Common Council supports the Notes, Jokes and Hope Conference and Music Festival to be held August 31-September 2, 2018 in Milwaukee on the grounds of the former Northridge Mall; and, be it
