The property owner has requested the City of Milwaukee to remove a portion of public sidewalk in front of the property at 8608 West Hemlock Street. The property owner has signed a petition and waiver which waives their right to a public hearing. The resolution authorizes the levying of special assessments and directs the removal of the sidewalk.
 
 
BODY:
Whereas, The property owner at 8608 West Hemlock Street has asked the City of Milwaukee to remove the public sidewalk which extents approximately half-way in front of their property at which point the sidewalk ends; and
 
Whereas, This sidewalk will be removed and replaced with top soil by City of Milwaukee forces and assessed to the property owner; and
 
Whereas, Waivers of notice and hearing of the abutting property owner have been filed; now, therefore, be it
 
Resolved, That said Commissioner of Public Works is authorized and directed to proceed with said work in accordance with Section 66.60 and any other pertinent sections of the Wisconsin Statutes and in the manner directed by Section 115-42 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; and, be it
 
Further Resolved, That the proper City departments take such action as is required of them to assess the abutting property and collect such assessment in the manner directed by said Section 115-42; and, be it
 
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital purpose subaccount.
