Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a Cost Sharing Agreement with the City of Glendale for the engineering and construction costs associated with the rehabilitation of Silver Spring Drive from North 27th Street to the Milwaukee River. The City of Glendale has entered into an agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for rehabilitation of the subject roadway with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation funding 80 percent of the project’s construction costs. The City of Glendale has incorporated segments of the roadway that lie within the City of Milwaukee’s municipal boundaries into the construction project to complete the rehabilitation of the entire roadway between North 27th Street and the Milwaukee River. The total estimated cost of this project is $12,177,700, with a grantor share of $7,916,160, and a local share of $4,261,540, of which the City’s share is 1,270,962 and the City of Glendale’s share is $2,990,578. The total estimated design cost for the project is $1,000,000, with a grantor share of $0 and a local share of $1,000,000 of which the City’s share is $292,500 and the City of Glendale’s share is $707,500. A separate resolution will establish the accounts to fund Milwaukee’s share of the construction costs.
