Analysis
This resolution waives the 1,800 minimum linear foot requirement for commuter parking impacted areas for the Milwaukee School of Languages area.
Body
Whereas, Parking congestion can be a major problem in certain areas of the city during business hours; and
 
Whereas, Section 101-27.7 has established a permit system whereby vehicles bearing a valid special parking permit may park in excess of the posted time limits on specifically designated streets within commuter impacted parking areas; and
 
Whereas, Section 101-27.7-4 requires that the affected area of a commuter impacted parking area must be at least 1,800 linear feet, and this section also provides that the Common Council may waive this requirement; and
 
Whereas, The Milwaukee School of Languages suffers from significant parking congestion during the school day, and local residents can benefit from designation of the area as a commuter impacted parking area; and
 
Whereas, The Milwaukee School of Languages affected area is 920 linear feet; now, therefore, be it
 
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the size of the affected area for a commuter impacted parking area is waived for the Milwaukee School of Languages.
