Whereas, Members of the Judiciary and Legislation Committee have reviewed the records relating to the inspections and subsequent clean-up of the premises at 1115 West Lapham Boulevard, and have taken testimony from the claimant and City representatives. Despite the recommendation of the City Attorney, members of the Committee believe it is most cost-effective to compromise and reduce the amount claimed from $245.00 to $122.50. The amount recommended for settlement of the claim, $122.50, represents reimbursement for one-half the amount of the health abatement charge on the claimant's property taxes; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the proper city officers be and they hereby are authorized and directed to issue a city check in the total sum of $122.50 payable to Frank Arteaga, S78 W19686 Cedar Hill Court, Muskego, WI 53150, to reimburse him for health abatement charges; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the check is to be delivered upon presentation of a proper release, approved by the City Attorney; said amount to be charged to Account No. 636505, Fund - 0001, Organization - 1490, Program - 2631, Sub Class - S118. This resolution would release the City from any further liability arising from this incident.
