Substitute resolution authorizing the release of special purpose account funding carried forward into 1997 for the Social Development Commission.
ANLS:
BODY:
Whereas, Funding of $107,180 was included in the 1996 budget in the Special Purpose Account-Social Development Commission Fund; and
Whereas, This funding was carried forward into 1997 in accordance with Section 65.07(1)(p), Wisconsin State Statutes (resolution # 961327); and
Whereas, Release of these funds has been delayed until such time as the Interim Social Development Commission has been able to address management issues raised by audits conducted by the State of Wisconsin and Milwaukee County; and
Whereas, Significant progress has been made by the Interim Commission to improve public confidence in the agency, including hiring a new Executive Director, Director of Finance and Chief Accountant; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Department of Administration is hereby authorized to release $107,180 to the Social Development Commission; and, be it
Further Resolved, That these funds shall be used by the Social Development Commission to continue their financial management reforms.
